Home grown with love.

Hi there on this Friday Morning. I wanted to share this home decor project I made at my craft class the other week. We all thought it was a Lovely idea and jane our teacher suggested it would be nice at Christmas with pointsettia's in traditional Christmas colours.
I started by painting the pot with gesso to prime it, while i left to dry i stamped the flowers from pale pink and fushia cardstock then cut out and painted them with a wink of Stella. While i was waiting i die-cut the leaves from green cardstock too, leaving to one side i painted the pot with blue and green acrylic paint. While drying I adhered the florist wire to the prepared flowers and leaves with a glue gun.
I returned to the pot and put some washi tape through the middle, adhered my sentiment and all the other stamped elements to the pot.
I stuck some florist foam in the pot and stabbed the flowers into it and covered it with shredded green tissue paper. To finish the project I covered the centre of the flowers with craftwork candy.
Thanks for calling in please leave a comment if you wish and happy crafting!!!

Mixed media heart.- inspire.

Hi there, hope your having a lovely day. I wanted to make something different so i decided to have a go at a mixed media project using an mdf heart. I wasn't sure why to start, so firstly I applied some modelling paste though a stencil and left to dry when dry I applied a coat of gesso to give it a base coat to paint on.  I applied 2 coats of neat acrylic paint in pale blue ( crafters choice ) all over the entire project, leaving to dry ( for quickness i used a heat gun ) then i watered down 2 colours ( blue mist and pale mauve) i started from the top and dadded my paint brush with each colour in turn along the edge then let the paint roll down to the bottom of the heart. ( like dripping blood ) then dry again.
Next I used different textured stamps ( crafters companion ) and stamped them all over my project ( sometimes going over the edges ) with white and black ink. To finished the heart I used guilding wax to highlight the modellng paste element and around the edges. The heart finished I set about founding different embellishments to match the heart and painting those that weren't the right colour. I arranged everything on my heart then adhered, adding more elements like the gems and sequins. I really had fun making this project l Hope you like it too
Thanks for calling in and Happy crafting to you all

Achours aweigh.

Hi there on this sunny Thursday Morning. We are getting nearer to the end of a very hot week, it's expected to be another fine sunny weekend and it looks as though it well remain for the foreseeable future, but on the negative side every thing looks so parched, but we can't complain can we.
Moving on I thought I'd share this quick and easy card with you today. I have really enjoyed making these nautical themed cards and the brusho backgrounds turned out so well that I had to use a piece in this project.

Thanks for calling in and happy crafting!!!

Nautical card.

Hi there on this sunny Sunday morning. I hope you are well and having a great weekend...Here is a card featuring the brusho backgrounds I made a few weeks ago. For the first stage i stamped my brusho background pieces in black archival ink with the viva decor 'at the seaside' clear stamps and matted onto black card. For the second stage i took my piece of white card and stamped the compass in light blue then the ship in black. I coloured in the ship with a blue promarker and inked around the edges with a similar distress ink. I matted the stamped card onto black card, wrapped bakers twine around the lower half of the card, next adding the yellow layer. To complete this stage I added all the extra elements on top. Seahorse etc...I adhered both stages to the blank white pearlesant card as shown below. To finish i cut 2 die cut clam shells from the brusho background, 2 from yellow card and arranged them as shown on the card, popping  a blue gem inside to represent the pearl. I love working with brusho's the results are so amazing.
Thanks for calling and happy crafting!!!
