birthday boy.

Hi there, I thought I'd share this card with you all today. I made this card for my nieces little boy for his 2nd birthday.
I thought it would be fun to make a train themed card in primary colours, and this is how it turned out.
I started with a DL card on its side and matted and layered several pieces of red, blue and white cardstock
onto my base. On the last white layer i put two white eyelets in either end and thread a length of bakers twine through and secured it at the back with tape, then with the Marianne train die I cut the train in red, the coach in blue and the truck in red and positioned on top of the bakers twine, so it give the impression that the train had stopped on a track.
I cut the Marianne party balloon in blue and positioned it over the trains funnel,  l thought it looked like steam coming from the funnel.
To finish the card I stamped birthday boy on a piece of white card, coloured in the word boy in red promaker and finally matted it onto red card. I really enjoyed making this card I hope you like it too.

Easter Basket.

Hi there, I wanted to share another Easter card with you all today. It's a traditional inspired Easter egg basket with all the colours of spring time.
I started with a 6x6in square scallop white card, I firstly matted and layered a piece of orange coordinations. (14x14cm) then a piece of embossed pale pink card, (7x14cm) I cut 2 banners out of yellow coordinations and stamped Happy Easter onto the long banner then adhere to my card, I cut a white circle and purple scallop circle with my nesting dies, to give it dimension I used foam pads to adhere the two together. I cut the basket and eggs out of complimentry card, adhere them to my prepared scallop circle and fix to card. I finally finished with a bow and some die cut flowers (tattered lace) with craftwork card candy centres ( the candies were plain so I coloured them with promarkers to match the colours in the card.) And that's the card finished.

Easter Card.

Hi there, Happy Sunday to you all...
After my visit to the NEC last week. I am buzzing with idea's, so my first thought was to make a card to go with the workshop Easter treat box I made, from the remaining leftover bits of paper I had from the kit...
As you can see on the card there are no bunnies and Easter eggs in site, it's just a simple but effective card, the papers say it all...

Thank you for stopping by and see you soon.

crafty capers.

Hi, Hope everybody is well this Friday morning. Did you see the partial eclipse, it was overcast but we managed to view it though my husband's welding mask, it's something you don't see everyday isn't it. It was quite spectacular...

Moving on it's that time of year again, you're guessed it, it's the hobbycrafts show at Birmingham. I went yesterday with Eileen and we had a fabulous time there. I was lucky enough to get a seat on the craft asylum free workshop. I just love the quality of the papers, they are so on trend. The make was a lovely Easter treat box, using the Big shot plus starter kit along with the 6x6  beautiful meadow sweet & home sweet papers designed by the talented Debi potter...
I just couldn't resist sharing this with you. This is my first go at a workshop and I was quite pleased with the end result. I really enjoyed making it and I would definitely have another a go at something else next year...

Thank you for stopping by and see you soon.

March Hares

Hi there, thought I'd share this card with you all today... It's a Easter card made from a cool background technique using salt.
I shall explain how I made the background first...I used white linen cardstock it works just as well as glossy cardstock or water colour paper. I spritzed with two cosmic shimmer mists (bilberry crush and blue lime) letting it spread all over the card and merge into one, while wet sprinkle table salt (or any other salt you have available) on to the ink. The salt will absorb the ink and change colour, leave to dry while this takes place, to quicken the process I used the heat gun, and when it was dry I brushed the salt off with a soft cloth. I did quite a few of these and they were all different depending on how much, or little salt i put on them. I just love this technique.
I started the card with a DL card blank, with a piece of pale green ribbon I put it down the centre of my card to start with, then with my background I cut  3  5.5cm squares. I stamped my boxing hares onto 2 of the squares and stamped Happy Easter onto the 3rd square in black ink, then backed them onto black cardstock.
I finally stuck my prepared squares over the ribbon on foam pads and to finish I decorated with a bow and gems...

Thank you for stopping by and hope to see you soon

spring blooms.

Hello everybody, l wanted to share this card with you this Monday afternoon.
Now we're moving away from winter and we're heading in to spring I thought I'd make a simple spring time card.
I started with a A6 white card blank.I cut a piece of striped paper measuring 3cmx10.5cm, then machine stitched across the long side's and inked around all the edge's with tattered rose detress ink. I cut two length's of coloured craft wire and twisted it around a pencil, flattened it out and then pull out like a cork screw to form the stems. I cut some flowers from a Marianne die and stuck them together, then l arranged all my elements on to my card and stuck down with foam pads.
To finish I decorated the centres of the flowers with a button and a craftwork cards sentiment.

Owl family and Celtic card.

Hi there, hope everybody is fine this Friday afternoon. I hav'nt posted any cards this week because i've been quite busy so hav'nt had the time to make one single card (boohoo!) So this afternoon with a little time on my hands i thought i'd finish a few cards off so today I would like to share two cards with you.

The first card is of a cute owl family from joanna Sheen's Signature dies. set in an embossed inked frame the background is cut from a die-cut machine and backed on to vellum, then decorated with two inked feathers, flower button's, bow and a sentiment.

My second card looks quite Celtic. I used the wrought iron D-lites die from spellbinders for the four corners, a border stamp to fill in the blank space's in between. I used my square nesting dies for the centre piece giving it dimension with foam pads. And finally l used four pearls and a stamped sentiment to finish.

Hope you like them!
